Hi, I’m Sheetal and thank you for visiting my blog. In this post, I will provide more personal information regarding my background, summarized in 10 facts.
Fact 1:
I was born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Fact 2:
I’m of Indian descent and originally my roots lie in India. However, my parents are from Suriname, South America.
Fact 3:
Since I was a child, it has been my passion to write. As I child, my favourite hobby was writing stories, which I never stopped doing. I started, with breaks in between, blogging in 2019. Currently, I’m writing an e-book as well. I will reveal more details about this e-book during a later stage.
Fact 4:
I practice fitness and I’m incredibly keen on lifting heavy weights. Next to that, I practice yoga at home and participated in Krav Maga for a while. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, I quit. However, I’m planning to resume Krav Maga again whenever possible.
Fact 5:
I love to listen to 80s music when I’m doing my cardio, such as running on the treadmill or cross trainer. First, i do weight lifting and afterwards, I finish off with cardio.
Fact 6:
Until the age of 19, I looked like a “tomboy”. I only wore jeans, and mountain boots and tied my hair in a knot. I didn’t use makeup and refused to wear high heels and flashy jewellery. Neither did I like wearing artificial nails. I believed it was all nonsense.
However, everything changed, gradually, when I attended the School of Tourism in Amsterdam. My appearance and mind started to shift from there on.
Fact 7:
Since I was 12 years old, I’m keen on reading. My favourite genres are psychological thrillers, (auto) biographies and self help books.
Fact 8:
I’m keen on cooking and trying out dishes. In fact, during my lunch breaks at work, I prefer to eat a nice home–cooked meal, which I prepare the evening before.
Fact 9:
Since I was 19 years old I have had a burning passion for makeup, beauty and fashion. This probably had to do the with the fact I studied Tourism, where a clean-cut and representative appearance was essential.
Fact 10:
I still like to watch tv – series and soap series from the 80ties and 90ties. I guess it makes me feel rather nostalgic. Plus, I always study the way women wore their makeup back then. I think it’s interesting.
